BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Description:

This position is responsible for generating sales volume, generating potential customer inquiries, responding to customer inquiries, preparing and following up on sales proposals and helping the Company meet its growth and profitability goals. The position involves all aspects of the sales process including: potential customer identification, lead generation, qualifying of leads, proposal preparation, proposal follow-up, handling customer questions with respect to proposals, closing of the sale and a significant amount of project management and problem resolution between closing the sale and even after shipment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Business Development
• Investigate, research and initiate contact with major prospective customers
• Identify customer needs and reviewing market requirements in order to expand sales opportunities and development
• Meet or exceed the business development objectives by identifying target opportunities and promoting Hawboldt’s equipment
• Drive new customer targets through the business development process and assist in closing business opportunities
• Develop cost estimates, financial analysis, risk analysis and proposals for our products
• Keep up to date on the industry and initiate new product development programs and product line improvements in an effort to retain our leadership in the industry
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality control in an effort to produce quality products which are delivered on time
Partnerships
• Develop and manage strategically important relationships that further business development activities
• Assist team in acquiring new customers, and ensure that current customers are informed of Hawboldt’s services and resources available
• Work in partnership with customers to help them define and reach long-term profitability goals
Forecasting
• Identify and recommend strategies to maintain and improve the organization's competitive position
• Ensure that marketing and product strategies are consistent with the Hawboldt's long-range strategic objectives for the product line
• Generate methods that the Company may use to respond to the trends and changes
• In cooperation with the Business Development Manager, prepare and review marketing and sales plans, and ensure that the plans are being executed to achieve forecasts

Qualifications Necessary:

• A proven track record in complex sales in a manufacturing environment to the commercial marine, offshore oil & gas and/or Naval Defence market
• Post secondary education or equivalent experience in business or engineering
• Ability to aggressively target potential new accounts, and assess the keys to success for each opportunity
• Able and willing to travel nationally and/or internationally
