Offshore Lifting, Umbilical Winch, Launch and Recovery System (LARS)

Project: Saipem America of Houston, TX provides cost-effective solutions for subsea environments including subsea field development, remote intervention systems, inspection, maintenance and repair systems, from survey and positioning to well intervention and pipeline repair systems.

Hawboldt Industries has manufactured multiple 14.5-ton umbilical winches and associated launch and recovery A-frames (LARS) to support Saipem vessels and ROV operations.

Challenge: The primary project challenge was meeting Saipem America’s delivery requirements, which was a key element of the project due to the need to integrate with Saipem’s production and operations schedules. Saipem America also requires strict compliance with its stringent quality standards and testing, in accordance with DnV rules for offshore lifting appliances.

Success: All deliveries to Saipem America have been on-time, every time, to keep pace with the customer’s schedules and service programs.
