The Hoover Dam Bypass

Project: To transport construction materials and equipment needed for the new Hoover Dam Bypass, Timberland supplied high-speed traction hoists and hydraulic power units for the trolley system carrying loads along the two 50-ton cable cranes. Timberland provided the hoists for load lifting and the double-drum mast luffing hoists.

Challenge: Timberland was called upon to deliver this custom-designed equipment in a very accelerated timeframe after the project’s original cranes were destroyed by heavy winds. The bypass construction was at a virtual standstill until Timberland delivered the system and ensured its proper operation.

Success: Our quick delivery commitment was achieved, meeting the very specific cable crane requirements and application needs so project could go ahead on schedule.
